| Water Operations |
|
Water operations include the collection, storage, movement and conveyance of water through facilities such as dams, reservoirs, and channels. This includes timing, duration, volume, and frequency of releases and/or diversions. |
Due to the growing and diverse demand for water resources throughout New Mexico, several federal and state agencies joined together to review management of federal water operations facilities in the Upper Rio Grande Basin. The goal of the project is to improve how water is stored and delivered. The review is being conducted following the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and will result in an environmental impact statement. CEC developed a media kit, several project related fact sheets, exhibit displays, and conducted a stakeholder survey to assist the agencies in preparing for a series of public meetings for the project.
